Places people should feel part of. We build the identity and the system, and we build it to be understood.

Civic branding gives places and programs an identity people can find, trust, and feel part of. We design brand systems for cities, districts, and public initiatives — wayfinding-ready, print-ready, and clear enough that the identity explains the program before the copy does. Work includes East Orange and the EOUEZ urban enterprise zone.

Civic work has more stakeholders than any other kind, and every one of them will see the logo on a sign they drive past daily. So we build for approval by committee without designing by committee: a clear rationale, a few strong options rather than twenty weak ones, and a system that leaves room for the neighborhoods, programs, and departments that will need their own version. Deliverables tend to be physical, so we design for the banner, the bus shelter, and the water tower as much as the website. We're based in the Milwaukee area and have worked with districts and public initiatives here and on the East Coast; the procurement process is the same everywhere, and we're used to it.
